    How does payment work for any of the Premium Subscriptions?

    My Free Plan Has Expired, What Do I Do?

    You have a one-time subscription to our Free Plan. At the end of thirty (30) days, this plan will expire. You will not be able to renew it. The implication is that you will no longer be able to access any course on CIB.

    I am Unable to Subscribe to the Free Plan?

    If you have subscribed at any time to our free plan and your plan has expired, you will be unable to subscribe again as this is a one-time offer.  To continue to access courses, kindly upgrade to one of our Premium Plans.

    What Happens to My Progress If I am Unable to Complete a Course Before My Plan Expires?

    There is no cause for concern. The record of your study (indicated as your progress score) is retained on the system even after your plan expires. Whenever you upgrade to a premium plan or renew a premium plan, you can restart your study exactly where you stopped.

    After you have upgraded to a Premium Plan or renewed a Premium Plan:

        •    Login and go to the Account page.
        •    Click My Courses and you will find the course there.
        •    Click on the course and go to the topic/module you were at when your access was discontinued.

    I Started a Course Under the Free Plan and completed it After Upgrading to a Premium Plan. I Cannot Find the Link to Download the PDF Certificate

    Such a course is treated as a free course. You cannot download the PDF certificate for free. You will have to pay to download the PDF certificate.

    Follow the steps below to order  a PDF certificate:

    •    Go to My Certificate page under the Account section
    •    Click Order PDF Certificate
    •    Select the course you want to purchase its certificate and make payments with your card. You will see an on-screen confirmation of payment
    •    Click on Download PDF Certificate in the payment confirmation page and you will be redirected back to My Certificates page
    •    Click on the certificate and it will download as a PDF file on your system



    I Started a Course Under a Premium Plan Did Not complete it Before My Plan Expired. What Do I Do?

    Such a course is treated as a premium course. To complete it and download its certificate you will need to be subscribed to a premium plan. You can renew your subscription or upgrade to another premium subscription. Because it is treated as a premium course you cannot pay separately for the PDF certificate.

    How can I get a copy of my payment receipt?

    Stripe will send you a payment receipt by email. You will also receive a payment confirmation email from us. You can view a summary of your payment records in your account.

    To view your billing history, please follow these steps:

        •    Once you are logged into chicagoinstituteofbusiness.com, hold the cursor over your Account at the top right of any chicagoinstituteofbusiness.com page to see the account menu
        •    Click on My Account
        •    Select Billing at the left side bar
        •    Your account billing history will be displayed
        •    Click on the specific payment under the "Items" tab to view

    What are the prices of the Premium Plans? How much does CIB cost?

    Chicagoinstituteofbusiness.com memberships are available to fit every budget and every need.

    How do I update my credit card and/billing informationor ?

    We do not store your billing address or credit card information. These are stored by Stripe and Stripe stores your details if you tick the Remember me during the checkout process. If you intend to change your credit card details at some point in time, do not tick Remember me during the checkout process. If you selected Remember me during checkout and must update your credit card and/or billing information now, then cancel your subscription. Resubscribe afresh to the same plan or subscribe to another plan. During the checkout process update the credit card details and/or billing information

    How can I unenrol from a course?

        •    Login
        •    Go to the Account section
        •    Click on My Account
        •    Click on My Courses
        •    Click on the Unenroll button besides the course

    P.S: Your course progress is stored in the system and should you re-enroll for this course, you will be able to resume your study where you left off.

    How do I re-enrol for a course I previously unenroled from?

    Premium Plan Subscriber   
        •    Login
        •    Search for the course you want to re-enroll using the search box
        •    Click Start Course

    Free Plan Subscriber   
        •    Login
        •    Go to the Free Courses tab
        •    Click on the specific course you want to re-enroll

    Does my Premium Plan give me access to a Certificate Program?

    No. Each certificate program requires a separate subscription.

    I subscribed to a premium plan but I have completed all the courses under a certificate program. Can I get a final certificate for the certificate program?

    No. Certificate Programs require separate subscriptions. You can subscribe to a certificate program at anytime. Any course you had completed before you subscribed to the certificate plan will count for you. Your 100% progress in the completed course will automatically be reflected in the progress of your certificate program.


    What types of credit or debit cards do you accept?

    We accept major international debit or credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club and JCB.

    Payment is made online via Stripe.

    All prices are in U.S. dollars and will be billed to you at the current exchange rate. 

    How will the charge appear on my card statement?

    The charge on your credit/debit card statement will be from "Chicago Institute of Business."

    When I make payment on CIB, are my card transctions secure?

    When you sign up for the chicagoinstituteofbusiness.com, you can always be confident that your credit/debit card information is secure.  Payments on CIB is via Stripe.  We do not store your card or billing details on chicagoinstituteofbusiness.com.  All billing and card details are stored by Stripe.

    When I place an order online with my credit/debit card, I am asked for my secure code. Where do I find that?

    For Visa, MasterCard, and Discover: Look at the back of your credit card. You should see a series of numbers adjacent to the signature strip. Your security code is the final three digits.

    For American Express: Look at the front of your card. Your security code is the four-digit number located above and to the right of the card number.

    Can I get a refund for my Premium Subscription payment?

    We don't refund Premium Subscription payments. You can cancel your Premium Subscription at any time. Go to the My Subscriptions section of My Account and cancel your subscription. The cancellation will not affect your current subscription. Your plan will be set to expire at the end of your current billing period.


    Do I have access to study my courses if I cancel my Premium Membership?

    When you cancel your Premium Membership, you’ll lose access to your course materials at the end of your current pay period. You’ll still be able to enroll in any free course under the Free Plan (if you have not already used your one-time subscription).

    P.S: Your course progress is stored in the system. You will be able to resume your study where you left off after you renew your subscription or subscribe to another Premium Plan.

    Can I purchase a gift card for Premium Membership?

    We do not currently have gift cards for Premium Membership, but it’s something we’re working on. We will announce as soon as we are ready!

    Why was I charged after my free trial?

    Our free trial is a great opportunity for new users to try out our Premium Membership program. It automatically transitions into a charged enrollment at the end of the 24 hour period unless you choose to cancel, which you can do at any time.

    Can I buy Premium Memberships in bulk?

    We understand the need to provide special pricing for organizations and businesses. We are currently working on this feature. Please stay tuned!

  • I registered on the website before 4th September 2015. I am unable to login into my existing account

    Before launching the new website, we disabled the passwords of all users registered on our website on or before 4th September 2015. On 5th September 2015 we emailed a link to reset your password.

    Kindly check your inbox/junk/spam mailbox for this email.

    Click on the Password Reset link within the email and you will be redirected to the password reset page.

    Reset your password and you will be automatically logged into the site.

    Alternatively follow the steps below:

    •    Go to the Sign In page
    •    Click on the Forgot Password link
    •    Enter the email address registered against your account
    •    Check your email for a password reset link
    •    Click on the link and reset your password
    •    Go to the Account section and click on My Courses
    •    Click on your course(s)

    I am currently enrolled in a Course/Certificate Program/Mini-MBA Program. How Do I Access My Courses?

    Kindly follow the steps below:
    •    Go to the Sign In page
    •    Click on the Forgot Password link
    •    Enter the email address registered against your account
    •    Check your email for a password reset link
    •    Click on the link and reset your password
    •    Go to the Account section and click on My Courses
    •    Click on your course(s)
    •    Go to My Certificates link to view and download your certificate(s)

    How Can I Access the Certificates for Single Courses I Had Earned?


    •    Go to the Account section
    •    Click on My Certificates
    •    It will display the Certificates of the courses you have completed
    •    Click on the Download link besides the Certificate
    •     The certificate will download as a PDF file on your system.

    I Completed a Certificate Program/Mini-MBA. How Can I Access my Final Certificate?

    If you completed your courses under a certificate program/Mini-MBA prior to 5th September 2015, you will not find your final certificate on the new site. You should have received a PDF copy of your final certificate. In the next version of the website, you will be able to download the final certificates of the certificate programs you have completed.

    Where Can I find the Certificate Program(s) I took or am currently taking?

    This site only features Certificate Programs enrolled for after 5th September 2015. However you will find all the courses you took under the certificate program(s).
    Go to My Certificates page in the Account section and you will find the certificates of the courses you have completed.
    Click Download besides any certificate to download a PDF file.
    In the next version of the website, you will be able to view the Certificate Programs enrolled in before 5th September 2015. These will be in the My Certificate Programs section of your account.  

    I Need to Change the Names I Have on My Profile. What Do I Do?

    You can only change your names once on our system. This is especially important for those who sign up via their Social Media pages.

    To change your names, kindly follow the steps below:

    •    Login
    •    Go to the Account section
    •    Click Edit Profile on the left side bar
    •    Make the changes to your First, Middle and/or Last Names
    •    Click Save

    P.S: We cannot and do not make name changes on your behalf. Any email sent requesting that we make a name change on your behalf will receive no response.

    How Do I Change My Password?


    •    Login
    •    Go to the “Account” section
    •    Click “Edit Profile” on the left side bar
    •    Click “Change Password”

    I Forgot My Password. What Do I Do?


    •    Click “Sign In”
    •    Click the “Forgot Password” link
    •    Input the email address registered against your account on our system and submit
    •    An email with a link to reset your password will be automatically sent to your registered email address  
    •    Click on the password-reset link within the email and reset your password

    Can I login from any computer or am I restricted to a single device/computer?

    Yes, you can log in to study from any internet-connected device. 

    How do I update my contact details?

    If you wish to update your contact information, please follow these steps:
        •    When you are logged in, hold the cursor over your name at the top right of any chicagoinstituteofbusiness.com page to see the Account menu
        •    Click on My Account
        •    Select Edit Profile in the left side bar 

    Where can I find my course history/progress?

        •    Go to Account menu when logged in
        •    Click on My Account
        •    Select My Courses on the left side bar
        •    You will find all the courses you are currently enrolled in
        •    You will also find your progress of your study besides each course. Your progress is expressed as a percentage with 100% being course completion
        •    You can also click on any course to start or resume your study where you left off
        •    While you are studying you can click on Study Notes located at the bottom of the course page
        •    You can take notes as you study and save these notes for review at any time


    I am taking a certificate program. Where can I find my program history/progress?

        •    Go to Account menu when logged in
        •    Click on My Account
        •    Select My Certificate Programs on the left side bar
        •    You will find your progress of your study besides the certificate program. Your progress is expressed as a percentage with 100% being completion of the certificate program
        •    Click on the certificate program and it will display the courses under the certificate program
        •    You will see the progress of each of your courses


    I wish to remove myself from your email list. What should I do?

    If you are not currently subscribed to a plan, please follow these steps:

    1. Pick up any of the emails we had previously sent you
    2. Go to the footer of the email
    3. Select the Unsubscribe link

    P.S: If you are subscribed to a plan, you will only receive system critical emails

    What is your privacy policy?

    Your privacy is extremely important to us. Any personal or purchase information you give us is protected by SSL technology and secured networks that are only accessible to our dedicated technical team and designated chicagoinstituteofbusiness.com staff. We will never rent, sell, or reveal to outside persons or companies any email list, personal or purchase information you have given us, without your permission, except in circumstances where we believe in good faith that the law requires it.     What is CIB's recommendation for passwords?

    Chicagoinstituteofbusiness.com works to protect your security and privacy with strong password requirements.
     
    Your chicagoinstituteofbusiness.com password must:
        •    Include at least six characters
        •    Include at least one letter and one number
        •    Not repeat the same character more than two times in a row

        •    Not include white spaces.

    How do I manage my email notification settings?

    If you'd like to unsubscribe from our newsletters, simply click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email you received. You can also update your email notification settings within your Notifications page in your account settings.

    I was enrolled in a Certificate Program/Mini-MBA before 5th September 2015. I passed the post-tests of my courses but did not download my certificates. My progress for the courses whose post-tests I passed reads 0% on the new website. What do I do?

  • What is a Certificate Program?

    Each   certificate program is a specialized program of study that covers a specific body of knowledge.  Each CIB certificate program consists of a number of courses. Most certificate programs consist of five (5) courses. Some certificate programs have four (4) compulsory courses and an elective. The CIB Mini-MBA Program has thirteen (13) compulsory courses.

    For such programs, you are able to customize your learning by selecting one out of a number of elective courses.  You will have online access for 2 months even though most people complete studying all 5 courses within 2-4 weeks. Most of our Mini-MBA alumni complete their study of all thirteen (13) courses within 2-3 months.

    As you complete each course you will find a link to download a PDF version of its certificate. After you have completed all the courses in the certificate program, you will find the PDF version of your final certificate for the certificate program in My Certificates section of your Account page.

    All PDF certificates under any certificate program are free.

    Can I choose my elective course?

    You can select one out of a number of elective courses for the certificate programs that have optional electives. Click to view the Certificate Programs

    What is the cost of a Certificate Program?

    Visit the Certificate Programs page. Select the specific program and the fee will be displayed.

    Must I complete all the courses in a Certificate Program?

    Yes. The system will automatically issue the PDF copy of your final certificate only when you have completed all the courses in the program. At this time your progress in the certificate program will read 100%.

    Can I study the courses in any order?

    Yes

    How do I find details about any certificate program?

    Visit the Certificate Programs page. Click on the certificate program you are interested in. You will find an overview of the program, the courses and the modules under each course.

    What educational qualification(s) do I need in order to take the CIB Mini-MBA?

    Preferably a first degree but this is not a show stopper. There are no prerequisites for the CIB Mini-MBA Program. 

    Do I need work experience in order to take the CIB Mini-MBA Program?

    No. Though at least a year’s experience is desirable, if you do not have work experience you can still take the Mini-MBA program.

    How do I know if the CIB Mini-MBA Program is right for me?

    What is the difference between a Mini-MBA and an MBA?

    CIB’s Mini-MBA program is a non-credit bearing program. Mini-MBA is a term used by many universities; nonprofit and for-profit institutions to describe a training regimen focused on the fundamentals of business and require less than 100 hours of total learning. It is a professional development program ideal for those who cannot afford an MBA or who do not have the time for an MBA or those who are looking to move into middle management. It covers some of the essential knowledge areas covered in an MBA.

    Can I upgrade to an MBA on completion of the CIB Mini-MBA Program?

    No. The CIB Mini-MBA Program is a professional development program and not an academic program like an MBA Program.

    How Do I Verify My Certificate?


        •    Go to the Verify Certificate page

Input the certificate code into the box, Enter the certificate code
        •    Click the Verify Certificate button
        •    An on-screen version of your certificate will be displayed along with the date the certificate was issued

    To see how it works, input the certificate code, 7fbVn2ksMn and click Verify Certificate 



    P.S: If you enrolled for a certificate program prior to September 5 2015, you will not be able to verify your certificate. In the next version of the website you will be able to do so. However with your permission we will be happy to confirm the authenticity of your final certificate to any employer or recruiter. Simply ask employers, recruiters, etc. to email their inquiries as an email to admin@chicagoinstituteofbusiness.com. The email should include a signed letter of consent from you and the specific course/certificate program they want verified. We will send a signed confirmation letter within 48 hours.

    Can Employers/Recruiters Verify My Certificate(s)?

    Yes they can – with your permission. The recruiter/employer has two options:

        1.    Verify your certificate online by inputting your certificate code in the Verify Certificate page
        2.    Send an email to admin@chicagoinstituteofbusiness.com requesting for certificate verification. The email should include a signed letter of consent from you and the specific course/certificate program they want verified. We will send a signed confirmation letter within 48 hours.

    How Does CIB Handle Requests for Background Checks?

    Employers, recruiters, etc. can send an email to admin@chicagoinstituteofbusiness.com requesting for certificate verification. The email should include a signed letter of consent from you and the specific course/certificate program they want verified. We will send a signed confirmation letter within 48 hours.

    I Have Completed a Free Course, How Do I Get My Certificate?

    For every course that is completed, a PDF certificate is available for immediate download. It will contain your full names (as entered in your profile page), the course completed as well as the date issued. A payment of $5 per certificate is required from subscribers of the free plan.

    This applies to new and existing users.

    How Do I Order a PDF Certificate?

    If you subscribe to the free plan you can order PDF certificates for the courses you complete. 


    Follow the steps below:

    •    Go to My Certificate page under the Account section
    •    Click Order PDF Certificate
    •    Select the course you want to purchase its certificate and make payments with your card. You will see an on-screen confirmation of payment
    •    Click on Download PDF Certificate in the payment confirmation page and you will be redirected back to My Certificates page
    •    Click on the certificate and it will download as a PDF file on your system

    I am Subscribed to a Premium Plan. How Do I Get My PDF Certificate?


    For every course that is completed under a Premium Plan, a PDF certificate is available for immediate download at no extra fee. 


    Follow the steps below to download your certificate(s):

    •    Go to “My Certificate” page under the “Account” section.
    •    You will find the certificate. Click “Download”
    •    The certificate will download as a PDF file on your system.

    How Do I Order a Hard Copy Certificate?

    Whether you are on a free or premium plan you can order a stamped, hard copy of your certificate at anytime. Certificates are delivered within ten (10) working days from payment date.

    You can only order hard copy certificates for courses or certificate programs that you have completed. You can order up to five (5) certificates in a single order.

    To order a hard copy certificate, kindly follow the steps below:

    •    Click Order Hard Copy Certificate in the Account section.
    •    Choose your country
    •    Your fee will be displayed
    •    Provide the address the certificate(s) should be shipped to
    •    Select the certificate

    I am taking a Cer­tifi­cate Pro­gram. How many cer­tifi­cates will I get?

    With the exception of the CIB Mini-MBA Program, you will down­load a total of six (6) cer­tifi­cates in each certificate program. You will download a certificate for each of the five (5) courses in the program as well as the final certificate.

    I am taking the CIB Mini-MBA Pro­gram. How many cer­tifi­cates will I get?

    You will down­load a total of fourteen (14) cer­tifi­cates in the CIB Mini-MBA Program.You will download a certificate for each of the thirteen (13) courses in the program as well as the final certificate.

  • How Do I Take My Assessments?


    Each course has a number of modules. Some courses have assessments in between the modules while others have an assessment at the end of the course. You can take the assessments whenever you choose.

    All assessments are multiple choice options and you must score at least 80% to pass. If you score less than 80% in an assessment, you have unlimited attempts to retake the assessment on CIB anytime you want. You can only proceed to the next module after you have scored at least 80%.

    Once you have passed all the assessments in your course, you are officially a certified CIB graduate!

    All CIB courses are easy to understand. They are practical and expertly prepared to provide relevant, real-world knowledge and skills to anyone and everyone who seeks to improve their employability and productivity at work.

    CIB courses contain video case studies, hands on exercises, course progress tracking, assessments and certificates of completion for subject areas such as administration, marketing and sales, project management, supply chain management, risk, human resources, customer service, media and communication, finance, business and management, entrepreneurship, workplace essentials and computer essentials.
     

    How long does it take to study a course?

    The course materials are accessed online. They are not downloadable. CIB is a self-study, self-paced study platform. You can start, stop, pause and restart your study at any time.     Your course progress will read 100% and you will see a link stating, "Congratulations!!! You have completed the course".

    How do I mark a course as completed?

    You do not have to. The system automatically tracks your progress as you study. When your progress score is 100% you have completed your course. The course will then appear under the Completed Courses tab of the My Courses section of your Account.

    How do I find the classes I’ve enrolled in?

    Sign in to your Chicagoinstituteofbusiness.com account and click My Courses under My Account tab at the top right corner of your dashboard. It's that simple - really.
